Description

Responsibilities include providing fitness training services to clientele of all fitness levels, including students, faculty and staff. Fitness trainers are expected to teach and model appropriate forms for exercise, and to conduct training sessions in a professional manner. They are responsible for facilitating a fun, safe and welcoming environment for participants and staff members at all times.

Examples of Duties

• Conduct individual or group training sessions for clients. • Help motivate clients to achieve their fitness goals. • Ensure clients' safety by demonstrating safe and correct form for exercises, modifying exercise intensity levels, and appropriately warming up/cooling down. • Provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants. • Maintain all certifications.

Typical Qualifications

Education:

Preference given Junior, Senior or Grad Student.

Experience:

Teaching exercise classes, conducting group or one on one fitness.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

High self-motivation, customer service oriented, ability to develop and conduct individual and group exercise classes to accommodate all fitness levels.

Certifications: Must have CPR and other fitness certification. Priority given to AFAA, ACSM, ACE, NSCA or other widely accepted certifications.
