SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 5,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.  

The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online.  

Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Vice President of Academic and Student Success, the Dean of Technical Education and Workforce Innovation is responsible for leadership, development, supervision, and administration of programs and services designed to create and maintain an innovative workforce for our service region and the state of Missouri. Includes leadership for the college credit Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate, for secondary school career and technical programs in the college’s Career and Technical Center, and non-credit personal interest, continuing education and business and industry training through the LearningForce.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements  

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Required is a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five (5) years combined teaching and/or management experience, preferably within higher education. Prefer candidates with: Master's degree in Career and Technical Education or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education Successful teaching and administrative experiences in community college, technical school, university or corporate technical education programs; Experience with state and federal technical programs, grants and regulations that affect technical and career education; Experience in innovative workforce program development; Experience with internal and external collaboration; Experience with program evaluation and assessment Experience with personnel and budget management Experience with continuous quality improvement.

Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, proven ability to supervise faculty and staff. Ability to work under stress, ability to manage time and meet deadlines, a demonstrated sense of student centeredness, proficiency in computer applications, general business processes and process improvements, proven ability to establish effective relationships with business and industry, technical schools and four-year colleges and universities, community college students and staff. A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively. Other duties as assigned.  

Physical Requirements:

Ability to interact verbally in person, over the telephone, and via written and electronic media. Ability to move about campus and other locations. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
