We are happy to announce that we increased our hourly night differential to $2.50/hour! Effective November 20th 2022, you will be paid additional $2.50 per hour when you work between 6:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.

Job Summary:

This position performs a variety of custodial tasks required in the routine cleaning and maintenance university buildings. Moderately heavy physical effort is required for some tasks such as floor scrubbing, emptying rubbish containers, moving furniture and equipment, etc. Occasional unscheduled overtime may be required for snow removal and/or emergency cleanup. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.

Responsibilities: Cleans facilities, removes waste and recycling, and monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours. Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.
  • 50% Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
  • 10% Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
  • 20% Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
  • 10% Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
  • 10% Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice

Custodial Department currently has plenty of opportunities for all shifts:

-1st Shift, Mon - Fri 4am - 12:30pm, Rotating Weekends
- 2nd Shift, Mon- Fri 5pm- 1:30am or Mon-Fri 6pm- 2:30am
- 3rd Shift, Sun- Thurs 10:30pm- 7am

30 minute unpaid break each day

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Additional Information:

The first week is mandatory training on 2nd shift for non-Physical Plant employes.

Some positions require the ability to communicate in English orally or both orally and in writing.

Interpretation can be provided if needed during the interview (Spanish, Nepali, Hmong, Chinese, Tibetan)
