Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced professional for a full-time position as the Director of Risk Management and Compliance. Gettysburg College is an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences college, which enrolls approximately 2,350 primarily residential students. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration with secondary reporting responsibility to the Ethics and Integrity Officer, this position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the enterprise risk management and insurance risk management functions of the College.  The position works closely with the Ethic and Integrity Officer to ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and policies, and to review and develop policies as needed in the areas of risk management, loss prevention, and the health and safety of the campus community.  The Director of Risk Management and Compliance serves collaboratively as a resource for senior leadership, academic and administrative departments throughout the College, and supports efforts to respond to identified risks and monitor for emerging risks.

 

A bachelor’s degree is required. At least five to seven years of professional experience in the administration of enterprise risk management, insurance, and compliance is preferred.  The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively yet independently; communicate with discretion, tact and professionalism on sensitive and confidential matters; achieve mastery of complex substantive areas through individual effort and study; work timely and effectively on matters requiring independent judgement; exercise initiative in carrying out assigned projects; work harmoniously with a variety of individuals; and write and speak effectively.  Gettysburg College seeks candidates that possess the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members.

 

The Director of Risk Management and Compliance is a 12-month, full-time administrative appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience and complemented by an available benefits package including, but not limited to: medical and dental insurance, 22 vacation days, 403(b) retirement contributions, dependent tuition benefits, and parental leave.
