Job Summary/Basic Function
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises the TRIO / SSS Learning Lab and Tutoring Center and maintains content web page
- Assists students with the appropriate use of hardware and software applications
- Provides supervision for tutors and student assistants assigned to the TRIO - SSS Learning and Tutoring Center
- Tracks students’ lab participation by documenting usage, frequency, and interaction time via programmed software, and/or program database
- Prepares monthly reports indicating services provided, number of students served, and maintenance performed on all technology tools in the center
- Refer students to appropriate University specialized service providers, as applicable
- Perform data entry, create reports, manage and maintain a database appropriate for collecting, analyzing, and compiling reports for use by TRIO - SSS staff, the Director’s departmental assessment, institution, and federal reporting
- Use appropriate database(s) to compile and provide the Director with reports as required within the scope of the Department’s operational needs:
- Review course grades, gpa, persistence, retention data for tutees and make recommendations for student success
- Make recommendations for student tutoring based on application and self-identified instructional needs
- Monitor TRIO / SSS participants’ grades at interim and midterm to identify student’s intervention needs
- Submit end of semester and annual area report
- Assist with the evaluation of APR requirements persistence and retention metrics
- Generate the following reports: ( APR and as assigned)
- Give raw numbers and percentage of ALL students served who were in institutional good standing (2.00 cum GPA or above) at the end of previous school year (Fall, Spring, Summer) This will include students who graduated, transferred, or did not return BUT were in good academic standing in the FALL as of the first week of September during each school year
- Assist the Director with the collection, categorization, and analysis of data to determine the effectiveness of the SSS program, or for developing new grant applications, federal or institutional reporting: As assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Earned BS degree from an accredited University or College
- Demonstrate engagement with students in tutoring, mentoring and or leadership programs
- Demonstrate use of databases, database management and reporting protocols
- Understanding of University services and service providers
- Demonstrate supervision of an academic unit, department, or project
- Use database management and analysis to compile and write reports
- Use Learning Management Systems, (D2L. Canvass or Blackboard), and proficient with Microsoft suite
- Demonstrate ability to analyze data
- Demonstrate ability to construct reports
- Assist students with course ware, educational learning tools and research
