Scope of Job:
We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's diverse student body as a Part-Time Faculty of the School of Nursing beginning in the Fall 2022 of the 2022-2023 academic year.

The School of Nursing at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley occasionally has the need to hire part-time faculty in its Post Master's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program . Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction to students in the classroom, simulated laboratories, and clinical settings.

The School of Nursing offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing. These degrees include a traditional BSN and 2nd degree BSN pre-licensure degree, an RN to BSN, along with graduate degrees in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health NP. Our faculty teach on three campuses, in Edinburg, Harlingen and Brownsville. We have full simulation labs that offer state of the art educational opportunities for all our students. We collaborate with the other health science programs at UTRGV on interdisciplinary clinical experiences and work with hospitals throughout the entire Rio Grande Valley. Minimum Qualifications:
Master ‘s degree in nursing from an accredited school and Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Texas with a focus/specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health.

Additional Information:
UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days inlength.
