Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment, this position will run the day-to-day operations of the international recruitment team. The assistant director will manage and implement a strategic international recruitment plan that is directly linked to enrollment and international recruitment goals and resources.Additionally, this position will engage in international travel, student advisement, direct mailings/campaigns, recruitment events, and other special programing related to the international student population. Other administrative duties include CRM (i.e., Slate) utilization, agent contract management, relations, and commission verification process.
The Assistant Director supports the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment through the supervision of international recruitment activities in the Admissions Office. This position works closely with the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment to co-create and implement an annual strategic recruitment plan that is directly linked to enrollment and international recruitment goals and resources. The Assistant Director of International Recruitment actively contributes to the implementation and management of the Customer Relationship Management system (i.e., Slate) for international students. All recruitment activities such as travel, student support, direct mail, off-campus events, and other special events related to the recruitment cycle are the responsibilities as well. Said position also supports agent contracts and commission processing as well as UofI in-country managers abroad.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree



  • Experience compiling and analyzing information and data for reporting.
  • Experience planning, organizing, promoting, and implementing programs for large and small groups.
  • Experience composing a variety of business documents for various audiences (students, staff, school counselors, administration, etc.)
  • Experience speaking publicly to large and small groups.
  • Experience using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches and data organization.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with students, faculty, staff and administrators.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in student counseling, education, business or public relations, or other related field, Master’s preferred.
  • Good knowledge of a student centered/customer service-oriented philosophy.
  • Knowledge of Idaho and the University of Idaho.
  • Experience working in an admissions office.
  • Experience operating audio/visual/video equipment, and computer experience.
  • Extensive experience in recruiting, public relations, sales, marketing, or related field.
  • Ability to learn admissions and financial aid requirements and deadlines for high school and transfer students.
  • General knowledge about all University of Idaho programs, majors, services, their requirements, restrictions and costs.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a part of a team with a variety of people, including students, faculty, and administrators.
