The Associate State 4-H Leader will assist the State 4-H Leader in the daily operation of the UGA Extension 4-H program. More than 200 full-time and part-time faculty and staff members in Athens and the five residential 4-H Centers in Georgia support the district and county 4-H faculty and staff members who deliver the 4-H program at the county level.
  • Frequent work on evenings and weekends is expected.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable private vehicle for official duty travel are required.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serves as a member of the State 4-H faculty in conducting and organizing programs, events, activities and curricula for Georgia 4-H.
  • Supervises designated 4-H faculty members in the management of 4-H programs, this includes supporting the programming and content for those designated faculty.
  • Assist in coordinating evaluation of Georgia 4-H Programs.
  • Represents the state office at the county, district and state 4-H programs and events as needed.

  • Assist the State 4-H Leader in developing goals and priorities of the state 4-H Faculty.
  • Handles matters related to the State 4-H Program in the absence of the 4-H Leader.
  • Assist the State 4-H Leader with budgetary and personnel management.

  • Works with stakeholder groups such as Georgia 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee, GAE4- HYDP, Master 4-H Club, etc., to develop positive relationships to expand the private resources and awareness of the Georgia 4-H program.

  • Coordinates with appropriate 4-H faculty and the 4-H Centers the development of the 4-H calendar and coordination of 4-H trainings for county, district, and state 4-H faculty and staff.
  • Serves as a liaison for the District 4-H Program Development Coordinators to the State 4-H Director and state 4-H faculty and staff.
  • Assists with all aspects of risk management and implementation of policies, procedures and protocol.
