Job Description

Under the direction of the Shelden Clinical Simulation Center’s Business Administration Manager, along with input from the Director and Associate Director the incumbent will provide health education/outreach simulation training to the targeted population, community, and other health care facilities/providers. This will be accomplished through training, consultation, and technical support for all simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance, and repair of hi-fidelity simulators (software and hardware), task trainers and related multimedia peripherals of the Mobile Simulation Service.
  • Lead in further developing the Mobile Simulation Services.
  • Develop new client relationships with statewide hospitals, technical schools, and ambulance districts.
  • Communicate in a positive, professional manner with faculty instructors, staff, students, and other users of the Simulation Center.
  • Serve as a simulator operator by programming, testing, and running scenarios, assuring the facility and equipment is setup for training sessions.
  • Provide training and technical support for computer-based recording system.
  • Understand the use and operation of different simulation technologies ranging from screen-based simulations to full body patient simulators and virtual reality surgical simulators.
  • Conduct or recommend routine equipment maintenance, inventory updates and equipment purchases.
  • Maintain functionality of manikin components as directed by manufacturer support.
  • Drive Mobile Sim vehicles to outreach training sites.
  • Assist with simulation events and American Heart Association (AHA) courses when not on the Mobile Sim.
  • Maintain database for Mobile Sim participants, scenarios used, frequency of equipment used.
  • Assist with Mobile Sim program marketing and information management.
  • Assist with the recruitment and training of simulated participants (SP) and needed for outreach events.
  • Provide simulation resources for outreach training sites.
  • Participate in technical training as necessary; attend conferences to stay current with simulation technology.
  • Have AHA certifications and CDL license or willing to complete.
  • Assist with other special projects or initiatives as needed.
Salary

Salary Range: $50,367 - $79,354

Shift

MONDAY-FRIDAY with overnight stays from 2-5 night stays monthly.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in public health, health education, adult education, nursing or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. A degree in nursing is preferred. Two to three years experience in nursing, health education, adult education, marketing or public health is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: At least 5-6 years of clinical experience preferred.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Willing to learn relevant simulation, technologies, and applications.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions.
  • Knowledge of audio/video equipment and software for recording.
  • Proficiency in MS software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Internet.
  • Ability to express clinical and technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons.
  • Maintain certification and proficiency in Advanced Cardiac Life Support to serve as a resource for rural hospitals.
  • Ability to learn new software and hardware quickly and independently.
  • Ability to assess, troubleshoot and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and make critical decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding job assignments and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work with internal and external individuals from different disciplines and different levels of training.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and require little to no supervision with the ability to work as a team member.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environment; able to work occasional evening/weekends.
  • Work requires occasional heavy physical lifting of equipment and management/utilization of advanced medical devices.
  • Extensive statewide travel may be required for this position due to its outreach nature.
Supervision Exercised: Supervision may be exercised over simulated participants.
