Position Title: Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball

Position Summary: Assist the Head Coach in the general
leadership of the women's basketball team, including coaching,
scheduling, conditioning, practices and recruiting.
The employee is expected to conduct all assigned tasks in a manner
that supports program compliance with NCAA, MIAA and Washburn
University policies, rules and regulations.

1. Works in concert with and at the direction of the Women's
Basketball Head Coach to assist with coaching and building
athletes' abilities and capabilities. Provides individual and group
coaching and guidance to assist the Head Coach with running
practices, workouts and meets.
2. Scouts and recruits quality student athletes to the program:
Sets up recruiting trips, schedules visits, establishes and
maintains recruiting contacts adhering to NCAA, MIAA and University
3. Monitors individual student athletes' academic progress,
tracking class schedules, grades, and academic performance and
working with individual athletes, faculty and staff to address
concerns and help athletes maintain academic achievement that will
allow them to maintain NCAA eligibility.
4. Assists the Head Coach with administrative duties: Schedules
competitions with other teams, makes team travel arrangements, and
develops travel schedules, works with Athletics personnel to ensure
any scholarships awarded are in place for women's basketball
student athletes and performs other administrative duties as
