Lecturer of Sustainability and Coastal Resilience
 

 

The HTC Honors College at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a one-year, full-time Lecturer position in Sustainability and Coastal Resilience, beginning Fall 2023.

 

The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching and service. Possible teaching opportunities include Introduction to Sustainability and Coastal Resilience, Methods in Sustainability, and courses in their specific area of expertise. The teaching load for a Lecturer is typically five courses per semester and may include face-to-face, hybrid and/or online deliveries. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the individual may also be responsible for advising undergraduate students, contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes, and engaging in other service activities within the department, college, campus, community, and profession.

 

The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary Master’s or doctoral degree in a field related to Sustainability and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, student learning, and inclusive pedagogy. Exemplary teachers who have experience using innovative and active learning approaches are especially encouraged to apply. Evidence of collegiate teaching experience, with a focus on experiential learning, is preferred. Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and students, both in the college and across the campus. Individuals must be academically or professionally qualified at time of hire.

 

Must have completed 18 graduate hours in the relevant discipline, hold a master’s degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching, and maintain currency in your academic discipline.
