Job Description

The eMINTS National Center (eMINTS), in partnership with the Assessment Resource Center (ARC) is a self-supporting center within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). The mission of eMINTS is to provide professional development for educators and leaders that improves student achievement. eMINTS has been awarded several large federal grants that focus on randomized, controlled trials that use research-based methods to prove the efficacy of the eMINTS instructional model and education professional development. In its capacity as a research-to-practice center focused on professional development, eMINTS supports the mission of MU through receiving grants and contracts as well as offering fee-for-services options for schools to promote high-quality instruction and increased student achievement.

Nature of Work

Bridges technology solutions and pedagogical strategies by providing technical support to staff in use of technology applications while reinforcing pedagogical best practices. Acts as application administrator for enterprise educational technologies such as learning management systems (LMS), lecture capture systems, streaming servers, academic content repositories, etc. Promotes and facilitates utilization of educational technologies, including strategic and tactical support programs for instructors.
  • Provide consultation in the educational design and implementation of professional development materials
  • Assists in the development and implementation of educational support strategies and plans
  • Performs a variety of standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, etc., as necessary
  • Provides input to various educational support staff in the implementation of various programs/procedures
  • Impacts own work team
  • Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines in accordance with established priorities, timelines, budget, etc.
  • Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions, and checks for understanding
  • Develops working relationships with internal parties and may work with external parties, as needed
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Understands and supports the diverse needs related to the K-12 educational system.
  • Recognizes elements of quality teaching and learning approaches for learners K-12 to adults.
  • Develops educational content (e.g. course content, videos, multimedia, assessments) that inspires, informs, and captivates users applying basic graphic design principles.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of instructional materials and makes necessary revisions.
  • Stays current with instructional design trends and technologies
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Develops positive working relationships with faculty, staff, trainers, and/or other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure clients receive prompt and high-quality service and support
  • Provides administrative and user support for the learning management system(s).
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Proactively identifies and addresses any potential issues or areas of improvement
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Salary

Salary Range: $45,000 - $59,000 commensurate with Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Adobe
  • Fundamental understanding of HTML and/or WordPress
  • Conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the Educational Support function
  • General knowledge of educational support techniques developed through education and experiences
  • Perform routine to complex tasks as assigned using existing procedures
  • Ability to communicate professionally, positively, and effectively with staff and customers.
  • Organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to independently plan ahead
  • Creative while also being adaptable and flexible
  • Graphic design knowledge
