Methodist University School of Medicine at Cape Fear Valley Health seeks an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for its new College of Medicine in partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC. The College of Medicine is an application program with the LCME.
Reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Medicine, the Associate Dean will serve on the Deans’ Council and work collaboratively to oversee the design, development, and continuous improvement of the four-year College of Medicine curriculum; ensure optimal preparation of graduates for residency placement; advocate for successful pipeline programs at affiliated colleges and universities; bring awareness of evolving educational technologies and modalities; define and ensure consistent application of evaluation strategies for student performance; provide integration of the curriculum; define educational outcomes; and, ensure ongoing compliance with the LCME accreditation standards surrounding the MD educational program.
The Assistant Deans of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Education will report to the Associate Dean. During the applicant and candidate program phases, The Associate Dean will be primarily responsible for developing processes and documentation necessary to help the school successfully achieve all accreditation milestones in those areas for which they will be responsible.
The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in a health professional field, preferably medicine (MD). They will have 10 years or more experience in a leadership role in a medical school or similar environment, with specific experience in student affairs.
