We invite professionals strongly committed to the academic and professional preparation of majors for exercise and sport performance related fields. The primary emphasis of this position is to teach biomechanics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Other courses may include foundational exercise science (i.e., musculoskeletal anatomy, exercise physiology, and sports nutrition) or introductory graduate statistics courses. Responsibilities also include scholarship; advising undergraduate students; mentoring graduate students, and supervision of undergraduate and master thesis/research projects; conducting research in biomechanics; publishing and presenting research findings in peer-reviewed media and venues; providing service to Department and College through committee participation; graduate student mentoring; and University-wide activities.
Educational Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or related field.
Experiential Qualifications: Demonstrated potential for excellence in university teaching in biomechanics; demonstrated potential for research productivity; demonstrated commitment to professional service; demonstrated technical competency in instrumentation for motion analysis (e.g., Vicon, force plates, EMG); and demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a record of excellence in university teaching experience, scholarship, and professional service.
