Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the Department of Pharmacy
Practice (acute care). The FDU School of Pharmacy and Health
Sciences prepares pharmacists who will provide patient-centered
care, advance the pharmacy profession through research and patient
and public health advocacy, as well as serve as future health care
leaders. FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers an
integrated curriculum that seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners
who are able to effectively communicate with diverse populations
and work as integral members of interprofessional health care
teams. Further, the School offers a concurrent Master's degree
program to qualified pharmacy students.
The clinical faculty position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment (rank and salary commensurate with skills and experience). Faculty members are expected to support the FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences vision through teaching in the didactic and experiential professional pharmacy curriculum, developing a research agenda within their discipline and providing service to the School and University at large.
This position will be affiliated with an acute care clinical practice site that is seeking a clinical pharmacy practice faculty member to participate in direct patient care. It is expected that clinical assistant professor will maintain active interdisciplinary practice at their assigned clinical site. Primary responsibilities of a faculty member at the clinical site will include educating Fairleigh Dickinson University students, residents (if applicable), and pharmacy staff, providing and documenting pharmacotherapeutic interventions/pharmacy consultations, attending interdisciplinary rounds, providing patient counseling/medication reconciliation, documenting medication errors/adverse drug reactions, and participating in quality improvement initiatives as assigned by the director of pharmacy or clinical supervisor at the clinical site. Teaching in the didactic pharmacy curriculum, supporting student success initiatives, exam proctoring, committee engagement at the School, and participating in scholarly activities will also be expected.
