Assistant Professor of Spanish - Tenure Track

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literature at University of South
Alabama invites applications for a full-time (9 month), tenure-track assistant professor position
in Spanish to begin August 15, 2023. ABD candidates will be considered, but an earned Ph.D. in
Spanish or closely related field is required at the time of the appointment. We seek a generalist to
teach lower-and upper-division courses in Spanish language, Peninsular and/or Latin American,
and/or Latino culture, and literature. The successful candidate must demonstrate native or near-
native proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English and excellence in teaching at all
levels. Proven teaching success is preferred. Active scholarship and committee work is
expected.
