Position Summary

Trinity College in Hartford, CT, an NCAA Division III, liberal arts college in the New England Small College Athletic Conference ( NESCAC ), is seeking to fill a full-time Assistant Athletic Director of Event Operations. Trinity sponsors 30 varsity teams and supports over 700 varsity student-athletes.

The Assistant Athletic Director for Event Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day athletics operations that take place in Trinity College athletic facilities, with the exception of the Koeppel Community Sports Center and Trinity Boathouse.

The Assistant Athletic Director of Event Operations will create a user friendly, customer service-oriented environment and will be expected to serve as a resource to our administrative and coaching staffs in a support role. Duties and responsibilities will include:

Event Operations
  • Serves as lead for varsity home contest event management for Trinity’s 30 varsity teams, including securing assistance from coaches who serve as event managers and student workers to staff contests.
  • Significant role in management of conference, NCAA and national championships awarded to Trinity College.
  • Manages all space reservations for athletic facilities with the exception of the Koeppel Center and Trinity Boathouse.
  • Supervises team of 35-40 student workers.
  • Responsible for revenue generation through the rental of facilities to outside groups; Manages all aspects of the rental process for outside customers.
Other Administrative Duties
  • Responsible for scheduling and payment of student workers for Ferris Center front desk, Hazelton Fitness Center and other students hired in athletic department.
  • Manage and maintain all A/V needs within the athletic facilities.
  • Orders and maintains recreational equipment for student/faculty/staff checkout as well as equipment used in Wellness classes.
  • Assists with departmental wellness initiatives and wellness requirement administration.
  • Schedules and manages game officials and referees for home contests.
  • Participates in student-athlete group meetings and associated activities as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and senior athletic leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and computer skills.
  • Candidate should be considering a career in college athletics.
  • Master’s degree preferred, with experience in higher education and collegiate athletics, working in sports administration, and managing complex tasks where attention to detail is essential to success.
  • Experience in event management or comparable preferred.
