The University of Maine System is accepting applications for an Associate Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis to work at the University of Maine (UMaine), one of New England’s premier universities. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Business Officer, the Associate Vice President of Finance (AVP) leads the financial planning and analysis team and is responsible for the design, direction and reporting of financial forecasting, annual budgeting, and multi-year operational planning models to meet the evolving needs of the University. The AVP engages in safeguarding university assets and allocating resources. The AVP works with colleagues across campus to develop or refine tools for scenario analysis, revenue streams, personnel models, and operating and capital expenses. This position leads a team of 4 FTEs, with functional experts in academic, administrative, capital, and compensation planning being direct reports. The incumbent will play an essential role in the division’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, lead cross-functional working groups, and serve on various campus committees. In their absence, the incumbent will serve as backup for the VP/CBO.

 

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is commensurate with experience plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Finance, with at least 3 years in higher education financial roles.

 

Preferred:

CPA/MBA or other advanced financial qualification preferred.
