Job Summary/Basic Function
The responsibility of this temporary position is to assess need, design and
develop curriculum, and facilitate instruction in a non-credit English boot camp.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English (or related field)
- Two years’ experience teaching at post-secondary or college level
- Commitment to student retention and success
- Exceptional interpersonal and team-working skills
- Curriculum development experience
- Master’s degree in English (or related field)
- Experience teaching co-requisite English courses
- Experience teaching college level English courses

Hours Worked Per Week
May 2023: Estimated 40 hours total for curriculum development & preparation. June & July 2023: Avg. 10-15 hours per week for boot camp prep and instruction. Aug. 2023: Avg. 15-20 hours per week for boot camp prep and instruction

May – curriculum development, time flexible • June & July: Set days and times for boot camp preparation and delivery (M-R) • August: Set days and times for boot camp preparation and delivery (M-F)

Job Duties
Job Duty
- Collaborate with Bay College institutional partners including Boot Camp Work Group, English Department Faculty, Academic Success Team and TRIO to develop and deliver English boot camp curriculum.
- Create English boot camp for various audiences
- Attend regular planning meetings with planning team members.
- Develop English boot camp curriculum that recognizes and responds to varying learning needs by using innovative strategies to assist students in development of college-level English skills.
- Attend relevant professional development opportunities
- Other duties as assigned.
