Touro University - California, (TUC) located on historic Mare Island in the northern San Francisco Bay area, is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, OPEN RANK faculty position in the TUC Foundational Biomedical Sciences Department (https://tu.edu/programs/osteopathic-medicine/). Responsibilities include activities in teaching, research, and service. They are expected to devote the service component to assist in the TUCOM Master of Science in Medical Health Sciences (COM MSMHS) program management), a one-year master's program designed to improve a student's application to osteopathic medical schools and other healthcare programs (https://tu.edu/programs/medical-health-sciences/). Applicants must have a terminal degree (Ph.D., D.O., M.D. or Pharm. D. or a dual degree, or equivalent) in fields related to medical school biomedical sciences and have completed all the requirements for their degree by no later than the date of appointment. We are seeking a scientist or clinician with a substantial interest in medical education emphasizing medical curriculum delivery, program management, and student mentorship. The ability to teach in microbiology/immunology, pathology, physiology, or neuroscience at a health care professions level program is preferred. Prior experience in program management and providing academic support is preferred. The successful candidate will: 1) advance the educational and research mission within the Department of Foundational Biomedical Sciences, 2) contribute to interdisciplinary educational initiatives within the College of Osteopathic Medicine; and 3) collaborate with a talented team of colleagues in the DO and MSMHS programs to enhance the education and research efforts here at TUC.
