The Assistant Director / Digital Marketing Strategies will assist in the creation, execution and evaluation of email and digital advertising communication and marketing campaigns on behalf of the Virginia Tech athletics department. This position will support cross-functional work by
producing email and digital advertising deliveries and managing the department’s email and advertising communications calendar, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and delivering results inclusive of revenue generation, fan engagement and customer and donor retention.
Reporting to the Director / Digital Marketing & Revenue Growth Strategies and working in coordination with Brand Advancement, Championship Resources, Digital Strategy & Innovation and Virginia Tech Sports Properties, this position will play a crucial role in revenue generation,
stakeholder engagement and database growth across mediums. The Assistant Director / Digital Marketing Strategies will oversee a team of undergraduate student interns with assistance from the Director / Digital Marketing & Revenue Growth Strategies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field with relevant professional experience in a communications, marketing or digital marketing capacity within a collegiate sports property, professional sports property or agency setting, or have a master's degree.
Commitment to diversity.
Proven ability with copywriting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the Oracle Eloqua email marketing platform, as well as the creation of assets in
Adobe Photoshop.
Significant professional experience in a communications or digital marketing capacity within a collegiate sports property, professional sports property or agency setting.
