Director of Real Estate Studies-School of Business

Primary Purpose of Position:
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Business (SoB) is seeking to hire a Director for Real Estate Studies. The Director for Real Estate Studies supports the faculty, academic programs, MBA student concentrators, and the extracurricular activities of the Real Estate Concentration at the School of Business at North Carolina Central University. The Director will report to the Dean of the School of Business and to the Center's Advisory Board (consisting of 14 RE executives). The work of the Real Estate program is fully funded through the endowments and gifts of its alumni and friends

Minimum Education/Experience:
A graduate degree (Ph.D. is not required), preferably from an AACSB accredited School.A minimum of seven years of relevant real estate experience is preferred.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the real estate industry as a real estate professional
  • A deep understanding of the real estate market, including trends and developments
  • A passion for real estate and a genuine desire to work with students and faculty on a daily and personal basis.
  • A strong commitment to student success and graduate business education
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Some travel is expected.
  • Ability to work within a strong team-oriented collaborative environment, as well as autonomously
  • A demonstrated capacity to establish, cultivate and manage professional relationships
  • Ability to maintain collegial communications
  • Excellent communication skills that include effective and persuasive writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple responsibilities
  • Careful attention to detail; ability to listen and collaborate; a professional demeanor
  • A relevant post-baccalaureate degree required
  • For candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities related to consulting or developing course content, curriculum, instructional technique/technology, distance education design, development or implementation, will accept a relevant bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an academic center or similar educational administrative experience.
