Senior Biostatistics and Data Science Associate (Hybrid)



Summary

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology/Renal Services is seeking a Senior Biostatistics and Data Science Associate to help support its clinical and research practices, by managing and interpreting substantial volumes of data. The research focus will be nephrology and dialysis related clinical outcomes. The candidate should have relevant research experience in a variety of statistical analysis techniques. The person in this position should have expertise in using computational and statistical software packages. This position will require knowledge and expertise in a wide range of standard and advanced statistical analysis techniques and experience with major common software packages.

Job Duties
  • Meets with faculty, trainees, and staff to understand the data science and statistical needs of projects.
  • Designs and develops database systems and data analysis plans for the Division's clinical and basic science areas.
  • Design codes and maintains programs and research software for data science and bioinformatics applications.
  • Abstracts data from existing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) datasets and manages research datasets.
  • Provides and interprets reports of statistical methodology, results, and data interpretation.
  • Contributes to writing and reviewing of protocols, manuscripts, and computational programs.
  • Assists and trains faculty, trainees, and staff on the use of computer programs for data management/analysis.
  • Presents statistical reports, findings, and methodologies to Investigators and Department leaders.
  • Uses computational software such as EPIC, Python, R, and SQL to: create programs for data management, manipulation, and standard/advanced analysis.
  • Develops data-driven algorithms for optimization.
  • Develops reports to document activities and research results.
  • Provides frequent timeline and project updates to Division Head and Investigators as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in data sciences, statistics, biostatistics, or related field.
  • SAS (or other statistical package) programmer certification.
