Position Summary

Governors State University ( GSU ) is seeking to hire a Continuing Education Articulation Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of GSU’s School of Extended Learning’s ( SXL ) micro-credentialing, Credly badging, and Credit for Prior Learning. This position will serve as an integral part of GSU’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan as it pertains to the articulation of non-credit credentials to credit-bearing programs enabling a path for GSU’s School of Extended Learning’s students to credit-bearing programs. The successful candidate will engage faculty and academic staff to develop guidelines around credentialing and a strategy to promote awareness of GSU’s gateway programs.

This position also will assist in the coordination, facilitation, and implementation of workshops, classes, training, CEU offerings, events, and other offerings through the School of Extended Learning.

Essential Responsibilities:
70%
  • Design and develop curriculum for non-credit offerings for micro-credentialing, continuing education units (CEU’s), and badging to position GSU’s School of Extended Learning ( SXL ) as a premier provider of non-credit workforce development related training.
  • Engage, coordinate, and lead faculty and staff to create guidelines and parameters around micro-credentialing, badging, CEU’s, and credit for prior learning.
  • Identify current non-credit programs and implement new courses that can translate to college credit based on the curriculum. Make recommendations on curriculum changes and learning outcomes as needed to meet credit-based course requirements.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to promote the articulation of SXL’s gateway programs to existing academic programs and identify opportunities to develop new pathways that connect to relevant industry credentials.
  • Support the Credit for Prior Learning Coordinator in the development, preparation, logistics, and delivery of GSU’s Credit for Prior Learning Program. Support the intake process to receive credentials, resumes, and other supportive documentation for individuals seeking to petition and apply for credit evaluation through the Credit for Prior Learning office.
  • Participate in the coordination and execution of developing curriculum pathways for non-credit programming and writing course descriptions to connect seamlessly to credit -bearing programs and the credit for prior learning evaluation process.
  • Coordinate with GSU departments and external organizations to offer courses, workshops, and conferences that offer Continuing Education Units.
  • Coordinate with instructors, and logistics for in-person virtual and hybrid workshops and events.

  • Manage the Credly platform, digital badge design, co-branded partnerships, and meta-data requirements.
  • Form partnerships with credentialing bodies and monitor all required state and program paperwork for CEUs such as process reports, surveys, compliance logs, evidence completion forms, and submit to appropriate entities.
  • Update website content and assist with promoting workshops and events using online tools and software.

  • Assist School of Extended Learning staff and partners in providing onsite and off-site support and provide programming support for other school of extended learning programs.
  • Support recruitment fairs, job and career activities, and community events to build relationships and promote GSU programs.
Salary Range: $59,811.38 – $68,783.08
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED : COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION

  1. Masters’s degree in education, curriculum development, learning, and organizational development or closely related field.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years experience in higher education developing curriculum, non-credit courses, or workforce training.
  3. Competence with the current MS Office Suite of applications and other potentially relevant software.
