Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator I, Outreach & Dual Credit assists supervisors and managers by ensuring the accomplishment of operational outcomes in processes or programs. Visits the campus to promote outreach and assist students with application process and admissions checklist. Responsible for assisting with and taking part in recruitment efforts at ISD’s and dual credit enrollment and processes within our service area. Under general supervision, provides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day operations within high school programs, participating in planning, development, evaluation and improvement of school partnerships. Assists with ensuring smooth and efficient operations in policies and procedures related to school partnerships. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practice

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates visits with Service Area school Career Center Counselors to arrange appointments with prospective FTIC students
  2. Communicates with Dual Credit counselors at service area high schools to identify and recruit eligible students
  3. Coordinates and performs dual credit enrollment process that includes but is not limited to: liaison between testing center and ISD's, assists with awarding grants and assigning waivers, student guidance with applications, and documentation compliance
  4. Creates and gives presentations to external partners regarding Admissions and Dual Credit processes
  5. Coaches prospective students regarding college program opportunities. Hosts application events on ISD campuses
  6. Attends College Fairs and community job fairs to display program information and coach prospective students regarding their educational goals
  7. Oversees daily and assist with some long-term operations of assigned area; Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as Subject Matter Expert and general point of contact within the area of specialty
  8. Assists with training and monitoring of department staff; Assists with schedules and prioritizing work activities and assists in developing and organizing training materials
  9. Assists with maintaining compliance of processes and documentation
  10. Takes part in special projects and recruitment events such as: Open House, Senior Connections, Campus Tours, Campus Presentations
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary

Hiring salary range is $38,761 - $44,575

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
