The College
Trinity College seeks a staff that reflects the changing demographics of our student body. The Office of Admissions, part of the Student Success and Enrollment Division, aims to cultivate, recruit, evaluate, and yield an academically strong, talented, and diverse student body. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions and Events Coordinator will be an integral member of senior leadership in the Admissions Office and have supervisory responsibilities. The successful candidate will develop and coordinate innovation programming and events for recruitment and yield efforts. Collaboration with key campus partners, galvanizing faculty, staff, and student support, and knowledge of effective marketing and communication strategies are critical components to the success of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the development of innovative recruitment and yield events (in-person and virtual) that highlight the value of Trinity’s liberal arts education and are aligned with the College’s mission .
  • Lead in the development and cultivation of a guest-centered office culture that leverages technology and in-person engagement to optimize the in-person and virtual experiences of prospective students, families, and secondary school counselors.
  • Limited travel within a defined regional territory to visit high schools and community-based organizations, attend college fairs, and conduct special programs. Plan all aspects of travel, manage receipts, and prepare travel reports to meet Trinity policies and deadlines. You must have the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for travel and special events.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of students, exempt, and non-exempt employees.
  • Uphold anti-racist work and the values noted in our “ Working to Dismantle Systemic Racism ” statement.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key campus partners who contribute regularly to the success of in-person and virtual events.
  • Serve as chair and/or lead for multiple recruitment and programmatic teams.
  • Help develop and coordinate recruitment and yield efforts to reflect the importance of diversity at the college.
  • Interview and counsel prospective students and their families on the Trinity admissions process.
  • Conduct information sessions for prospective students, families, and other visitors to the college.
  • Read and evaluate applications and participate in the committee process to advocate for and select candidates for admission.
  • Cultivate strong professional relationships with secondary school counselors, community-based organizations, and independent educational consultants.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, including an ability to interact well with a diverse population.
  • In consultation with the director of admissions, seek professional development opportunities to hone skills, understand current trends and issues in global in higher education.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting expectations and deadlines.
  • Support the Bantam Network through its comprehensive Nest system for Trinity students.
  • Additional duties may be assigned to accommodate your professional interests and fluctuating needs of the Office of Admissions.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Five or more years of experience as an admissions counselor with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational, and statistical analysis skills
  • Self-motivation with a history of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • A master’s degree
  • Demonstrated success in managing a team
  • Previous experience working in a private college or university
  • Experience working with Slate or other CRMs
