Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are
responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum
learning environment, responding to student needs, managing
effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses,
modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism,
developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and
staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and
maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be
responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation
and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach Mechanical Engineering Technology courses designed for career technical programs. Areas of instructional emphasis include drafting and computer modeling, manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and testing and inspecting systems.

Education Required:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Education Preferred:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience Required:
- 3 years of relevant industry experience within the last 10 years.
- Teaching and/or industry training experience in Mechanical Engineering Technology course content (e.g. drafting and computer modeling, manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and testing and inspecting systems)
- Experience with engineering computing applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Solidworks, Revit, Mathlab, Rhino, etc.)
Experience Preferred:
- Post-secondary teaching experience
- Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
- Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
