Position Purpose

The position reports to the Director of the House of Welcome and will assist the Director to promote education, cultural preservation, artistic creativity, and economic development for indigenous artists on a regional, national, and international level, including the ongoing development and refinement of the Native Economic Development Program which includes arts marketing service, art sales, art exhibitions, artist conferences, artist in residence programs, and grant programs offered to artists by the House of Welcome. The incumbent serves as liaison to students, faculty, and staff for House of Welcome and college Indigenous initiatives and provides assistance and expertise for related projects.

This is a full-time, overtime eligible, grant-funded project position with the House of Welcome Cultural Arts Center on the Olympia Campus of The Evergreen State College. This position is an “at-will” appointment, exempt from Washington State Civil Service rules. This position is funded through June 30, 2024 and may be extended depending on continued grant funding.

Salary and Benefits: $4,696 – $6,105 per month of full-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life, and disability insurance package; and a tuition waiver program.
