Emmaus Bible College, a faith-based Christian college located in Dubuque, Iowa, that offers undergraduate degree in a range of majors in addition to Biblical Studies, is seeking a full time faculty in the field of Counseling Psychology. Applicants should have a minimum of a Master's degree in the field and professional licensure. Sympathy for the college's mission and commitment to undergraduate teaching are essential for this position.

  • Interest in undergraduate teaching in a faith-based setting

Educational & Professional

  • Master's Degree or higher in Counseling Psychology
  • Background or Training in Bible and Theology
  • Professional licensure
  • Teaching experience in formal academic settings is highly desirable

Knowledge, Competence, and Skill

  • Competence (and experience) in teaching
  • Currency in the discipline as demonstrated by active professional development and scholarship
  • Integration of biblical principles with professional practice

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepare syllabi and teach a full-load (12-13 credit hours per semester) of assigned courses to achieve approved outcomes.
  2. Determine instructional objectives appropriate to each assigned course and assess student academic achievement related to these objectives.
  3. Select textbook and/or teaching materials appropriate for individual course content and objectives under general guidance from the Department Chair.
  4. Serve as academic advisor for assigned students.
  5. Attend department and faculty meetings as scheduled.
  6. Assist the VP for Academic Affairs and the Department Chair with the professional development and advancement of the department.
  7. Serve or provide leadership on faculty and institutional committees as appointed.
  8. Attend chapel regularly, eat lunch with students, and engage in informal exchange of ideas with students as opportunity permits.
  9. Implement college policies and procedures in the classroom.
  10. Read and comply with policies and procedures in the Employee and Faculty handbooks.
