FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs in Hunter College's School of Education seeks candidates for a tenure track position in School Counseling effective late August 2023.

Duties include: 1) teaching graduate courses in our counselor education programs, 2) conducting research and academic scholarship, 3) student advisement, 4) serving on program, department, school, college and university committees, where appropriate, and 5) participating in professional organizations such as the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association, American School Counseling Association, and regional/national/international organizations.

The Hunter College School of Education is committed to educating a diverse student population. As such, all candidates must have experience with diverse populations and must have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings. Teaching experience is preferred. Program leadership experience and interest is highly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor:
Required-All candidates must have a demonstrated professional school identity and an earned Ph.D. or Ed. D. in Counselor Education or an earned doctorate in a related field such as Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or School Psychology. Amaster's degree in School Counseling and certification in School Counseling is preferred. Experience working with children, adolescents and their families within school settings is desirable. Experience with diverse populations is required. All candidates must have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings.

VACCINE REQUIREMENT

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Assistant Professor: $52,267 – $90,375
Associate Professor: $67,784 – $107,789
Full Professor: $83,878 - $115,333
