POSITION PURPOSE

The Assistant Director of Institutional Research will work collaboratively with the Director of Institutional Research and the Provost/Dean of Faculty to collect, organize, produce, analyze, and report institutional data, assist with other research projects, and support campus decision making.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist the Director of Institutional Research in research on institutional effectiveness.
  • Assist the Provost/Dean of Faculty in preparing and analyzing budgetary issues and other issues related to the administration of the academic programs.
  • Assist the Provost/Dean of Faculty in the maintenance, organization, and analysis of data related to faculty issues.
  • Support the Director of Institutional Research in the design, administration, and analysis of campus surveys.
  • Initiate, lead, or organize new research and projects.
  • Assist campus offices in data maintenance, reporting, and assessment.
  • Support the Director of Institutional Research in researching, preparing, and submitting reports to external agencies.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Individuals must be able to explain and/or demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Broad skills in social science research methodology, including survey design, administration, data analysis, and report preparation.
  2. Experience with statistical and spreadsheet software.
  3. Ability to work with, develop, and manipulate spreadsheet datasets.
  4. Knowledge of multivariate statistical methods.
  5. Ability to produce data visualizations.
  6. Efficient organizational abilities.
  7. Strong writing skills.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree

1-2 years of relevant analytical research experience or related graduate assistantship.

PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS

Master's degree

Advanced level experience with Excel, Tableau or other data visualization software, and with SPSS, R, or other statistical analysis software.
