Specialist Professor, Nursing
Monmouth University is seeking applications for two Specialist
Professors in the Nursing department. These positions are
anticipated for the 2023-2024 academic year and are two-year
appointments with the possibility of subsequent multi-year
reappointments. This search will remain open until is filled.

The Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies has 38 full-time
faculty, 14 staff, and close to 1,000 students. The School offers
undergraduate health studies, health promotion, health and physical
education; master's physician assistant; doctoral occupational
therapy; undergraduate, master's, and doctoral nursing programs; as
well as post-master's and post-baccalaureate certificates and
continuing education programs.
Our MSN programs have been nationally recognized by U.S. News &
World Report, placing them among the best graduate nursing programs
in New Jersey. We have also been ranked among the top 100 best
nursing schools in New Jersey (#4), in the Mid-Atlantic Region

Required Years of Experience:
Master’s degree in nursing. If master’s degree is not in nursing,
candidates must have a doctoral degree in nursing.
New Jersey professional registered nurse licensure or eligibility
with license required at time of employment dependent on Board of
Nursing response time. Minimum one-year direct care experience as a
registered nurse or certified/licensed advanced practice
Faculty must have documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching
responsibility. Demonstrated (or potential to demonstrate) ongoing
disciplinary currency and/or scholarly achievement. Ability to work
An earned doctorate in nursing or related field. One year of
teaching experience at a college or university.
Nursing practice experience in maternal-child, pediatric, or
psychiatric mental health nursing. Current nurse practitioner
certification, with priority to adult-gerontology, family, and
psychiatric mental health advanced practice. A record of commitment
