Job Description:

Le Moyne College, a primarily undergraduate institution in Syracuse, NY, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning in August 2023. We seek a colleague with strong interest in undergraduate teaching within a liberal arts setting, who is able to teach a wide range of Psychology courses, and has knowledge of pedagogies informed by psychological education research. The position carries a 3-3 teaching load and involves academic advising of students in the major.  The successful candidate will be asked to teach courses focused on social or group dynamics, such as Social Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, or Stereotypes and Prejudice, as well as other courses consistent with their area of expertise.

About the Department

Psychology is one of the largest majors in the College of Arts & Sciences at Le Moyne. We have a very active Psychology Club and chapter of Psi Chi. We also have an internship program with full academic year placements for our undergraduate students.  We highly value undergraduate student-faculty research and faculty regularly present with undergraduate student co-authors at regional, national, and international conferences.

 


Requirements:

Applicants must possess:

  • Have completed a PhD in Psychology (ABD's will be considered if degree completion will occur by August 2023).
  • Have a strong record of undergraduate teaching
