Assistant Professor, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

 

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille University is actively seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track clinical assistant professor to teach in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.  Medaille University, based in Buffalo, New York, has a well-established, accredited program with an excellent reputation for experiential learning, a contemporary curriculum, and experienced faculty with various areas of specialty and expertise.

 

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a related field, must be either New York State licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, have at least three years of clinical and/or teaching experience at the graduate level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and have experience working with CACREP.

 

The University offers its master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which provides academic preparation for students who wish to pursue licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State (LMHC). The program is designed for working adults with classes offered in three formats: Buffalo Campus with a weekend teaching format, Online Campus with weekend campus residencies in Buffalo, and Hybrid format. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • teaching a wide range of graduate-level courses in Mental Health Counseling advising and mentoring students demonstrating ability to contribute to the core programs demonstrating ability to collaborate with colleagues on projects, such as research and grants maintain compliance with CACREP standards and assessments conducting service to program and university ability to teach both ground and online courses
