Associate Project Director (at the rank of Lecturer)



Applications are invited for appointment as Associate Project Director (at the grade of Lecturer) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 520086) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

The appointee will work in the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (JCECC) under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Project, started in 2016, aimed at improving the quality of End-of-Life Care (EoLC), enhancing the capacity of service providers, as well as raising public awareness on life and death issues. Applicants should possess a good Master’s degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counselling, Management or related disciplines; and preferably at least 8 years’ relevant work experience in managing professional and public education project. Expert competence includes, but not limited to, family counselling, palliative care, use of play, use of therapeutic groups and bereavement care will be an advantage.

The appointee is expected to lead a team of training officers and research officers in the project and to make sure all the training and research deliverables are delivered on time. He/She will undertake administrative roles and prepare regular reports to the funder, collaborators and directors, as well as perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract end-gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
