The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Division of Community Oral Health invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Division Chief of Community Oral Health. This is a full-time faculty position in the Academic Clinician track at the associate or full professor level and reports to the leadership of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences. This public health professional will lead and expand the Division's activities in teaching, research, and community-based practice at PDM's affiliated community programs. The Division Chief will lead faculty to improve overall scholarly activity, build and maintain the department's reputation nationally and internationally, as well as increase funding to strengthen the community-based and interdisciplinary practice programs and research at the University of Pennsylvania. Opportunities to collaborate with the Center for Integrative Global Oral Health are available. The Division Chief will exhibit exceptional leadership skills and supervise the faculty and staff within the Division.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The posting is open until filled
Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include DMD/DDS/MD degree and/or PsyD/PhD degree or equivalent; experience in the management of department/program operations, experience with teaching and mentoring students and faculty preferably in interprofessional settings, and experience in research and scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates with public health training at the master’s or doctoral level, and experience in community-based centers. Candidates seeking clinical practice opportunities must be eligible for unrestricted Pennsylvania dental licensure.
