We are seeking aHR Services Sr. Representative(HRSSR) The position is located within the HR Shared Services and is responsible for entering HR and Benefit transactions into the HR Information System in a timely and accurate manner. The HRSSR will process all human resources related transactions including, but not limited to, on-boarding (new hires), salary changes, leaves of absence, supplemental pays, and terminations; all within the HR Information System. In addition, the HRSSR will monitor benefit enrollment reports, as well as make necessary adjustment to benefit deductions as requested. The HRSSR will serve as the subject matter expert regarding the Internal Service Request, Employment Actions, Organizational Management Tool, Employee Self Service and the PA/OM functions of SAP and associated workflow for all listed functions. Additionally, the HRSSR will provide exceptional customer service to all areas of Johns Hopkins supported by HR Shared Services and provide support to Payroll Shared Services as needed. The candidate for this position must be team oriented, customer service focused and meet deadlines on a consistent basis.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review Internal Service Requests (ISRs) ensuring all HRIS required information is meets processing standards for entry into the SAP system.
  • Enter HR transactions into the SAP system in accordance with established quality and accuracy standards.
  • Monitors select system reports and resolve issues as they are identified.
  • Review and resolve audits of HR and Benefit data routinely.
  • Work with HR Offices, Payroll Offices, Benefit Offices and all other customers to resolve SAP data integrity issues.
  • Resolve issues for employees related to Employee Self Service and provide support for W-2 inquiries.
  • Assist the HRSS Management team with establishing and improving upon defined HR Shared Service procedures and processing methods to efficiently and accurately meet production and performance goals.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of HRIS functionality including how the HR module interfaces with other modules, other systems within Johns Hopkins and vendors.
  • Be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi task and plan work priorities around payroll processing deadlines.
  • Be proactive in identifying and implementing workable solutions to business issues with the assistance of HR Shared Services Management team.
  • Work with all staff members within HR Shared Services to create and manage effective relationships within the unit and build relationships enterprise-wide to better service customers.
  • Utilize customer service skills to provide timely and accurate response to customer inquires
  • Timely completion of audit work.
  • Assist the HR Shared Services Management team with monitoring and evaluating HR Shared Services transaction work flow and volume in order to meet production and performance goals.
  • Responsible for creating a work environment that maintains confidentiality.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive team environment among coworkers within the unit.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Two years of experience working in a call center, data management center or HR environment is required.
  • Additional education may be substituted for years of experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in HR, Business or Information Systems.
  • ERP experience (preferably with SAP)
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Johns Hopkins (University/Health System/Hospitals) HR Policy and procedures
  • Have demonstrated ability in the use of information system technology to improve operational processes.
  • Possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work assignments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office tools including Excel.
  • Have strong customer service orientation.

Starting Salary Range: $20.40-$28.00-$35.70 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
