Duties and Responsibilities

The School of Education ( SOE ) at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for a 1-year non-tenure track position in the School Psychology program area. The selected individual will join faculty in the SOE’s CAEP -accredited undergraduate and graduate programs, all of which are shaped around the SOE’s conceptual framework of advancing professionalism in the service of social justice.

The main responsibilities of the selected candidate include the following:
  • Primary responsibility of teaching.
  • Maintain a 4/3 teaching load (teaching four courses in the fall and three in the spring, on the average) of graduate courses in the EdS and PhD programs. Other courses may include teaching courses for the EdD CAEP -accredited fully online program designed for practicing school psychologists.
  • Advise students, engage in service to the school psychology programs, the SOE, and larger university, community, and profession.
Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in assessment, prevention, intervention, and individual and systems-level consultation and collaboration within a MTSS framework. We seek candidates who will collaborate with colleagues across the program, SOE, and larger university to build an anti-racist school psychology program. Candidates will also demonstrate a strong commitment to urban education and dedication to serving a historically minoritized P-12 student body in the greater Chicago area consistent with Loyola University Chicago’s commitment to advancing social justice through transformative education. Candidates will demonstrate a commitment to collegiality and collaboration within the School Psychology programs and larger SOE and University community.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate in School Psychology, preferably from an APA and NASP accredited program
2. Licensed and credentialed school psychologist through the state education agency

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bilingual school psychology expertise and experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse P-12 students
2. 5+ years of experience as a practicing school psychologist
3. Experience supervising school psychology practicum students and/or interns
4. Holding the Nationally Certified School Psychologist ( NCSP ) credential
