Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and master’s level courses in the Department’s curriculum. Undergraduate teaching would include in-person and/or online sections of Human Development. Master’s level teaching may include fully in-person, hybrid, or fully online courses. Master’s level courses may include (but are not limited to) Counseling Theory, Techniques of Counseling, Lifespan Development, Career Counseling, Research and Program Assessment, Social and Cultural Diversity, and Group Counseling. Other responsibilities include working on Department committees and projects, and coordinating Department procedures and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Must hold master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling or closely related field. Must demonstrate experience providing mental health education/services to diverse clientele. Must have familiarity with human development theory and its practical application. Must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. Perceived ability to work productively with students and colleagues is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Possess doctorate in Counselor Education. Prior teaching experience of both undergraduate and graduate courses at the university level. Experience teaching large undergraduate course sections.
