opportunity as the next Chief Information Officer (CIO) / Associate
Vice President for Technology Services.
The CIO is responsible for enterprise strategy through technology, ensuring that the University has the optimal platforms in place to thrive and grow, while balancing the delivery of technology products and services that are innovative, cost-effective, convenient, functional and sustainable.
They will oversee the information technology department operation, while transforming business knowledge of the University with technical depth, change management, and leadership to develop, communicate, and implement a vision for technology in support of evolving digital needs of the Loyola community.
In addition, the CIO will promote digital innovation and lead ongoing transformation to promote connection with new and existing members of the community and to serve the academic, administrative, strategic and tactical goals of the University. A member of the President's Cabinet, the CIO is a highly collaborative and visible position.

In addition, the CIO will promote digital innovation and lead ongoing transformation to promote connection with new and existing members of the community and to serve the academic, administrative, strategic and tactical goals of the University. Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree (MBA, Computer Science or IS related) plus 8 or more years of experience.
- Demonstrated success leading and managing a technology organization including strategic planning, budgeting, operations, procurement, hiring, performance management, staff development, governance, project management, risk management and service delivery.
- Experience developing and executing technology strategic plans and deploying complex technologies. Ability to successfully execute short-term, long-range, and strategic IT plans that enable the overall strategic directions of the University.
- Thorough understanding of technology trends, applications, current developments and new directions and how they relate and are leveraged within a higher education environment.
- Ability to develop and promote collaboration around a shared vision for the use of information technology at the University and within its service mission.
- Ability to prioritize competing needs related to technology and information systems in a highly dynamic environment. Ability to develop and deliver a business case for new and transformational technologies.
- Strong knowledge and experience in technology, excellent leadership and management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other university leaders to ensure that technology is aligned with the University's missions and goals.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, listening and relationship building skills. Ability to communicate and present highly technical topics in non-technical language.
- Extraordinary influencing and change management skills.
- Demonstrated effective management of operational, capital, and other financial resources. Ability to conduct and communicate cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses. Ability to define and articulate the impact of projects on resources (including human resources) and workload. Ability to manage and develop technical teams through coaching, mentoring, skill building and continual performance feedback.
- Ability to successfully manage IT services vendors, software providers and contractors.
- Outstanding judgment, ability to assess and understand the motivations and needs of others, and ability to balance self-reliance with team dynamics.
- Must be able to support the University's goals for institutional diversity, as well as the goals and values of a Catholic, Jesuit education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The University has embarked on a Digital Transformation process, whereby the legacy ERP system will be replaced in the coming years. Experience leading a similar Digital Transformation.
- Experience with the Workday platform, is highly desirable
