The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Washington, seeks a full-time Director as an Assistant Teaching Professor for the Pathology Assistants’ Master’s Program on the educator pathway. The primary service responsibility will be to participate in the formation and direction of the Master’s Program in Pathology Assistants’. Additional responsibilities include the teaching of Pathology Assistants’ students, residents, fellows, medical students and medical laboratory scientist program undergraduates, and development of appropriate educational materials.

Research Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. 

This position remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of 7/1/2023, but is flexible.

The base salary range for this position will be: $8,000 to $15,833.33 per month ($96,000 to $190,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • MS degree or foreign equivalent in Pathology, Pathology Assistant, Laboratory Medicine, or a related field. 
  • PA(ASCP)cm: A credentialed Pathologist’s Assistant through the American Society of Clinical Pathology certification maintenance.
