College/Department Overview

The department of psychology offers graduate training at the specialist level in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology. Portions of that training take place in our on-campus clinic, located on the third floor of the Education Building. The Psychology Clinic is a state-of-the-art training facility, with the ability to do live observation via two-way mirrors or via multiple monitors, digital recordings of meetings with clients, and even live supervision via bug in the ear systems.

Preference will be given to applicants with an earned masters degree awarded by a regionally/nationally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field of counseling psychology, school psychology, or another specialty area of mental health, as well as current licensure in Oklahoma as a mental health professional. Primary responsibilities include managing daily operations in the Psychology Clinic; supervising graduate students in emergent clinical matters; communicating with program faculty in the Psychology Department; and participating in program evaluation sessions associated with accreditation, program approval, and continual improvement efforts.

Position Overview

Assisting with daily operations in the UCO Psychology Clinic, supervises emergent clinical issues for clients seen in the clinic, provides clinical supervision of advanced graduate students, evaluates student performance as needed, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university, department, and program policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. This position is a part-time position.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Primary responsibilities include assisting with daily operations of the UCO Psychology Clinic providing coverage for student clinicians to see clients, supervision of emergent clinical issues, and clinical supervision of cases for advanced graduate students.

Qualifications/Experience Required

This position requires an earned masters degree awarded by a regionally/nationally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field of counseling psychology, school psychology, or another specialty area of mental health, as well as current licensure in Oklahoma as a mental health professional.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

The successful candidate will have experience in managing a clinical setting, working with clinicians in training, the evaluation and management of emergency mental health situations (e.g., suicidal ideation, suicidal intent, intent to harm others), and in using evidence-based psychological practice.

Schedule

This position is part-time. The clinical coordinator will have a fixed schedule of 24 hours per week in the clinic (i.e., three 8-hour days) during the fall/spring semesters and 8 hours per week in the clinic (i.e., one 8-hour day) during the summer semester. Hours will vary by semester in accordance with faculty clinic coverage availability.
