The Agnes Scott College Department of Classics is seeking applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin August 2023. We are seeking a candidate who is able to teach both Greek and Latin at the intermediate and advanced levels and an advanced course in English in the candidate’s area of specialty. The position is a one-year appointment with teaching and advising responsibilities at the undergraduate level and an expectation of ongoing research. The teaching load is three courses each semester. A Ph.D. in Classics is required, as is evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level.

Applicants who make it to the final rounds of recruitment will be asked to submit letters of recommendation and course evaluations, and to provide a recording of a course that they recently taught or a recording of a teaching demonstration.
