This is considered a full-time, salaried, benefits eligible position. The hiring range for the position is $67,724 - $84,670. This is an onsite position at our Marblework location in Middlebury VT with the potential for a hybrid arrangement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop intentional, proactive and responsive relationships with each area in your portfolio from vice president to individual contributor.
  • Support and coach individuals, supervisors, teams and VPs to resolve challenges, unlock value, build talent pipelines, develop and engage employees.
  • Leverage institutional toolkit to deploy programs and initiatives with consistency and effectiveness while also ensuring specific focus on area needs. Inform HR initiatives utilizing information about constituent areas in alignment with institutional mission and goals.
  • Manage strategic oversight and execution of recruit, hire, grow and retain pillars in the People Experience function.
  • Provide support to leadership teams in matters related to strategic staffing including organizational design, job description development, succession planning, workforce planning and workflow analysis and improvement; compensation; and performance optimization.
  • Manage the life-cycle recruitment process for staff positions: recruiting, screening and recommending placement of employees by using creative source methods both internally and externally.
  • Support leadership development and employee engagement initiatives through program development, curation, delivery
  • Support policy development, process optimization, compliance, investigations and reporting requirements while working in partnership with People Operations team, Green Mountain Higher Education Consortium (GMHEC) colleagues and other institutional partners.
RequirementsPosition Prerequisites:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field with progressive experience in people-related strategic function. 5-8 years of HR generalist or related experience required with focus on employee relations, talent development or similar function.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Organizational development acumen preferred with ability to objectively coach employees and leaders through complex, difficult and emotional issues.
  • Experience in full scope staffing including knowledge of sourcing efficiences, candidate assessment techniques and offer negotiation skills. Experience leveraging technology for recruiting and hiring.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues. Passion for developing proactive, asset-based solutions that support employees and the institution.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage complex and competing priorities and follow tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner with a inclusive, social-emotionally informed approach.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems. Preferred experience with current ATS system (Workable) and HRIS (Oracle HCM). Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and team collaboration software.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

General office environment with long periods of computer work. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a high stress environment and be able to maintain confidentiality of information. This role is eligible for @campus or @hybrid flexible work options.
