The Department of Nursing at Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a Nursing Simulation & Skills Lab Coordinator.

Duties:  Responsible for managing, facilitating and teaching activities for the Simulation Center/Skills Lab and coordinating nursing clinicals for the department with local and regional hospitals; activities involve both internal learners (medical residents, student nurses and allied health professionals) as well as external learners (visiting physicians and other health care providers, industry partners and community groups) who participate in simulated/skills lab exercises; responsible for operation and maintaining sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, Pyxis system, audio-visual equipment, photo production equipment and computer equipment; in collaboration with nursing clinical faculty, the faculty simulation/skills lab coordinator will design, develop, introduce, schedule, set-up and implement simulated learning scenarios/skills labs and educational materials for all nursing courses in collaboration with nursing clinical faculty; will assist with departmental and inter-departmental day-to-day operations and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other health care related field required; Master’s degree in nursing preferred; one (1) year full-time clinical experience in medical-surgical environment preferred; proficient in the use of audio/visual equipment (i.e., video cameras [GoPro, KB Port, REPLAY], monitors, microphones), including recording, duplication, and editing; proficient in Microsoft Office suite and MAC applications; commitment to professional development in the area of healthcare simulation and technology; Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) certification from American Health Association (AHA).
