The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time lecturer to begin in August 2023. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, depending on experience. We particularly seek candidates with teaching, research, and/or industry experience that can be applied to instruction in design, hands-on manufacturing, CAD, instructional laboratory, and design project courses.

The anticipated teaching load is two courses per semester for a total of four courses per academic year. The main responsibility will be high-quality, student-centered undergraduate teaching, including course preparation, delivery, and assessment. Lecturers also contribute to academic advising of students and participate in departmental, university, and external service. Depending on academic needs, Lecturers and Senior Lecturers may have the opportunity to earn additional compensation by teaching during the summer term.

Qualifications
PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience. A commitment to outstanding engineering education and teaching, research, and/or industry experience in design, manufacturing, CAD, or related topics.
