Job Title: Executive Director, CUNY Athletic Conference (University Assistant Administrator)

Reporting to the Chair of the University Athletics Council, the Executive Director of the CUNY Athletic Conference is a forward thinking and creative leader with strategic management and relationship-building skills, who will bring an enthusiasm for intercollegiate athletics, and a strong commitment to enhancing the student-athlete experience while overseeing the long-term strategy, vision, and daily management of the Conference.  Key duties and responsibilities include working with the University Athletics Council and the Conference Board (campus athletic directors) to determine and advance Conference priorities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: works with the University Athletics Council and campus athletics directors to determine and advance Conference priorities; serves and fosters collaborative relationships with a diverse community of stakeholders (students, conference members, campuses, athletics staff); provides vision, leadership and collaborative decision-making with regard to all Conference matters including strategic planning, public relations and general day-to-day operations; in partnership with member campuses, enhances the overall student-athlete experience, and supports student well-being; acts in an advisory capacity to all conference committees and conference member schools; serves as interpreter of the Conference Constitution, Bylaws and Sports Regulations and implementing all actions passed by committees and the membership body; manages relationships and compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association; represents the conference at annual NCAA, ECAC, NJCAA meetings; cultivates and manages fundraising and sponsorship activities to expand Conference programs, initiatives and reputation; proactively seeks corporate support for Conference activities that is consistent with University and Conference values; and applies for various NCAA and other grants available to the Division Ill membership. To qualify, candidates should have a bachelor's degree in physical education, sports management, communications or related area and eight years of experience in athletics administration, particularly running tournaments, are required.  Compensation: $155,00 - $175,000, commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
