Founded in 1967 on traditional Blackfoot land, we are a place where student engagement is prioritized, and students at all levels are involved in research and creative activities as part of their learning experiences on a daily basis.  ULethbridge offers more than 150 successful undergraduate and 60 specialized graduate programs in the faculties of Arts & Science, Education, Fine Arts, Health Sciences, the School of Liberal Education, the School of Graduate Studies, and the Dhillon School of Business, at two campuses - Lethbridge and Calgary - to more than 8,250 students.  ULethbridge takes pride in enhancing community engagement and is committed to collaborating with Indigenous peoples and communities to ensure that their partnerships, and ensuing programs, meet the needs of these communities.  ULethbridge is committed to creating and supporting environments that incorporate principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, are respectful to all, and encourage diversity of thoughts in the discussions.

The University of Lethbridge is seeking an established and visionary leader for one of Canada’s top-ranked universities and leading research institutions.  The Provost & Vice-President (Academic) (Provost) is the senior vice-president and Chief Academic Officer of ULethbridge, and a pivotal member of the President’s Executive team.  The Provost will foster an environment of innovation and be responsible for institutional planning and administration in all aspects of the academic operations involving students, academic and support staff, alumni, members of the governance committees, and staff associations. The position will lead the conceptualization, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all academic programs and services. In collaboration with the Vice-President (Finance and Administration), the Provost is responsible for resource allocation, budgeting and reporting, in addition to providing leadership, oversight, and direction for enrolment management and student support services.

The Provost will contribute to ULethbridge’s vision as a Destination University on a national and international stage. Through their ongoing commitment to keeping the University student-focused, faculty-led, research-intensive, and grounded in an inclusive perspective on liberal education, the Provost will create a conducive environment and enable students and graduates to succeed in their careers and contribute to a better global society.  As an authentic relationship builder, the Provost will support the University by fostering relationships with community, various orders of government, councils and organizations involved in higher education at the provincial, national and international levels, as well as other external agencies.  The Provost will also ensure the implementation of equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous principles into the University’s overarching strategy.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in their discipline and is seen as a recognized leader in their field, and have qualifications commensurate with an appointment with tenure at the rank of Full Professor. Recognized as an exceptional communicator, the ideal candidate will have outstanding academic credentials, a distinguished record of scholarship and university administration, and a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and undergraduate and graduate student success.  Applicants will possess a demonstrated strength to build relationships and trust with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, and a proven track record in fundraising and government relations.
