Job Summary

The Executive Assistant is a member of a team that collaborates to further the work within the President’s Office and between the Office and the rest of the College and community. The Executive Assistant should enjoy contact with staff, students, faculty, trustees, and other constituents and have the ability to pivot in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Ability to handle many competing requests with timeliness, accuracy, humor, discretion, and professionalism is a must. The person should be genuinely interested in the educational mission of the College.

The Executive Assistant organizes and performs the administrative work of the President and serves as backup to the other executive assistant in the Office for the work of the Senior Vice President. The Executive Assistant manages the President’s high-volume schedule, ensuring that all necessary logistical and travel arrangements are completed and all necessary briefing materials are provided in a timely manner; screens and routes correspondence and calls; provides administrative support for select events, and is a strong liaison with the executive assistants of other senior officers within the College.

This person’s capacity for confidentiality and discretion, responsiveness, quickly grasping the content of scheduled meetings and correspondence, and for dealing knowledgeably and confidently with colleagues and visitors is a critical factor in the effective operation of the President’s Office. Accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks and to proactively track and follow through on projects and work are critical.

Salary Range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $75,000 – Maximum $85,000

Education/Skills Requirements

Required:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Applicants must be able to work collaboratively as a member of a team and possess exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as the ability to collect and synthesize information and provide summary reports
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, under deadlines, and with minimal supervision.
  • The Executive Assistant must also recognize, be sensitive to, and accept the importance of confidentiality.
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment is required.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Required:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, including experience providing administrative support to a senior executive at a comparable organization required
  • Prior experience in calendar management with organizing, scheduling, and maintaining a calendar for an Executive or group.
  • Must have considerable proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook, and various virtual meeting platforms
Preferred:
  • Experience working in an academic setting is strongly preferred.
Standard Work Days and Hours
  • This is an exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements
  • Hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 hours/week, year round (1.00 FTE ).
  • Additional hours, including occasional evenings and weekends are required.
