The Opportunity:

The Director of Enrollment Communication and Content Strategy is a versatile communicator responsible for enrollment-related communication and content, including individual and mass communication, CRM utilization and email marketing. The Director leads a team that crafts the copy used in all outreach to prospective students, including that used in organic social media, paid digital advertising, print publications and materials, enrollment-related websites and landing pages, email communications, vendor-produced materials, video/audio scripts and printed ads/advertorials. Their team serves as the liaison between marketing and IT with regard to CRM utilization, and he/she must have a strong understanding of data related to both email and paid digital marketing. In addition, their team is responsible for email marketing strategy, content, execution and analysis, and the Director must have a solid knowledge of best practices related to email marketing and audiences.

They will be accountable for defining and leading a globally focused communication and content strategy that encompasses all three Embry-Riddle campuses. The Director will work directly with the Executive Director of Enrollment Marketing and Digital Strategy, the Vice President of Enrollment Management and campus enrollment Deans, in conjunction with the other EMDS Directors, to execute a variety of marketing and communication efforts. They are a creative problem solver who can work in a fast-paced environment and motivate a team to exceed goals, metrics and key performance indicators to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and a strong return on investment.

The Director of Enrollment Communication and Content Strategy will be a member of the Enrollment Marketing and Digital Strategy leadership team and will be a flexible, collaborative team player with a positive can-do approach. This position carries substantial independent responsibility, involves the prioritization of high-volume demands, and requires a broad range of abilities and the aptitude to exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence. They will have strong data analysis and data visualization abilities with a keen focus on highlighting return on investment for the institution. They will demonstrate cross-functional expertise and the ability to thrive in a highly complex and fast-paced environment.

They must have demonstrated work experience in communication and content marketing as well as CRM expertise. They will also be able to demonstrate work experience in researching, planning, organizing, coordinating, and completing major cross-functional initiatives, projects or presentations. They will understand how to attract multiple audiences such as high school students, online, adult learners, parents, high school counselors/teachers, etc. The Director will consistently evolve and adapt our Communication and Content and CRM initiatives to ensure we are reaching all targeted audiences.

This position will also collaborate, participate and, in some cases, lead committees involving all three campuses. Additionally, this position will support University-wide initiatives such as SIT 1, Enrollment Management Strategic Plan, amongst others. This position will require the selected candidate to be in the Daytona Beach, FL or the Prescott, AZ area. Relocation will be provided if selected candidate is not living around either of our residential campuses.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or business required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
  • At least four years of demonstrated work experience in communication strategy, email marketing, copywriting for print and digital media and utilization of a CRM is required for this role.
  • Demonstrated work experience in researching, planning, organizing, coordinating and completing major cross-functional initiatives, projects or presentations.
  • Encourages and expects others to think outside of the box and to be innovative and not limited by existing methods and procedures.
  • Develops and implements innovative and creative communication solutions to campus-specific enrollment challenges.
  • Proven ability to learn the business of stakeholders in order to effectively manage and prioritize own work and the work of those to whom the position reports.
  • Must have the ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must possess a professional attitude, positive spirit and high standards; unflappable in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong grasp and understanding of principles of writing and report preparation; spelling, grammar, punctuation.
  • The ability to work independently, use independent judgement and manage multiple priorities.
